Willie Pipkin & Friends brings a roots-forward night to The Continental Club. Willie’s playing is grounded in the blues but stretches into bluegrass, swing, rock ’n’ roll and a little jazz — and he often recruits some of the cream of Austin’s players to sit in. Expect a warm, versatile set of American roots music and tight ensemble playing.

This show is part of Willie’s regular run at local venues — he frequently appears with top local sidemen and delivers a mix of bluesy leads, swinging rhythms and occasional country-tinged numbers.
