Barrel Proof – A Night of Original Jazz

Barrel Proof brings an evening of original jazz compositions to Forte Jazz Lounge. Led by sought-after bassist Brett Belanger, the group performs material written by all members — Brett Belanger (bass), Arshak (piano), Ron Wiltrout (drums), and Robert Lewis (saxophone) — offering a broad sonic palette shaped by their weekly sessions and a shared appreciation for whiskey that helped inspire the band.

Expect tight ensemble interplay, original compositions spanning varied influences, and thoughtful soloing from Charleston jazz stalwarts. Robert Lewis is the Director of Jazz Studies at the College of Charleston and the Charleston Jazz Orchestra; Brett Belanger is a Greenville native with a long performance history in the region.
