Eve Monsees & Mike Buck perform at The Continental Club. 6:30 PM. No cover. 21+ only.
Eve Monsees got her first guitar at 12 and soon began playing the blues with schoolmate Gary Clark Jr. By 15 she was sitting in on jams at Austin clubs and within a year was earning her own gigs, including opening for Jimmie Vaughan at Antone’s. Eve formed The Exiles with Mike Buck and released their debut record in 2004. She later joined the Bluebonnets and continues to perform in a number of bands.
Drummer Mike Buck brings decades of Texas roots music experience, having been a founding member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and a member of the LeRoi Brothers and Big Guitars From Texas. He has played with Eve and the Exiles since 2002 and the two also co-own Antone’s Record Shop in Austin.
They are frequently joined by Amsterdam-born guitarist Tjarko Jeen, noted for his roots-oriented Telecaster work.
