Eve Monsees & Mike Buck — 6:30 PM • No cover • 21+
Eve Monsees first picked up a guitar at 12 and soon began playing the blues alongside schoolmate Gary Clark Jr., sitting in on local jams and quickly moving into paying gigs. She formed The Exiles with Mike Buck; their debut arrived in 2004. Monsees later joined the Bluebonnets and has remained a fixture in multiple Austin bands. Today she performs roots- and blues-informed sets that draw on decades of Texas music tradition.
Drummer Mike Buck has been a staple of the Austin scene since the mid-’70s, co-founding the Fabulous Thunderbirds and later playing with the LeRoi Brothers and Big Guitars From Texas. He and Monsees have recorded and performed together for years and are also co-owners of Antone’s Record Shop in Austin. Shows often feature Amsterdam-born guitarist Tjarko Jeen on Telecaster.
