About Elias Haslanger: A native Texan and Austin resident with a 30-year career as a saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, Haslanger’s work has drawn comparisons to John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Ben Webster, and Wayne Shorter. He has performed and recorded with Ellis Marsalis, Maynard Ferguson, Christopher Cross, Charlie Hunter, Asleep at the Wheel, Alejandro Escovedo, Sheryl Crow, Grupo Fantasma, Spoon, The Four Tops, and The Temptations. Haslanger holds a Master’s Degree in Composition from Texas State University and has released seven recordings as a leader.
