Kevin Russell

Kevin Russell (Shinyribs) brings a blend of Gulf Coast swamp pop, bayou R&B, and Texas songwriting to The Saxon Pub. Russell’s Shinyribs project mixes sprawling ensemble grooves with intimate, literary-leaning songs rooted in Beaumont and Shreveport traditions.

From the new record Leaving Time — produced by David Beck and featuring Mason Hankamer, Jonny Keys, and Dees Stribling — expect a warm, soulful set that leans into storytelling, vintage R&B touches, and laid-back Texas groove. The performance is billed as an evening sit-down of slow, resonant songs and shuffling juke-joint energy.
