FREE FUNK! Wednesdays — Henry Invisible
Doors at 7:00 PM at The Far Out Lounge (8504 South Congress Avenue, Austin). Free admission.
Henry Invisible is a one-man funk, soul and dance band. A multi-instrumentalist who live-loops and layers vocal harmonies, he uses dynamic guitar riffs, bass grooves, soulful keyboards, drum machines and percussion to create original, high-energy dance music that resembles a solid six-piece ensemble. A regular on the Austin music scene, he has shared the stage with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Sly and the Family Stone, Sister Sledge, Chaka Khan, Shuggie Otis, and many others.
“Multi-instrumentalist Henry Invisible is quickly changing what it means to be a one man band. Based out of Austin, Henry incorporates the sheer songwriting finesse of Elton John with the technical virtuosity of Jimi Hendrix in his loop-based arrangements. Roland’s abilities on guitar, bass, keys, and vocals coalesce for high-energy performances filled with seamless transitions between instruments and songs – all while the man himself has the time of his life onstage.” — Jack Anderson / KUTX
