Los Desechos bring a high-energy take on cumbia — described as ‘Cumbias Levantamuertos’ — blending psychedelic, chicha, sonidero, and surf influences into feel-good original cumbias built to fill dance floors. The group features John Dell (guitar), David Dalton (keys), Jacob Rivera (bass), Eric Brown (drums), Mateo Turner, and Michael Penic (timbales).
The Cumbia Movement is an Austin-based collaboration of seasoned musicians delivering classic and contemporary cumbia through spirited covers and vibrant performances designed to connect with audiences and celebrate the joyful spirit of cumbia.
