Known as “Mr. Honky-Tonk Piano,” Earl Poole Ball blends showmanship, mirth, and musical magic with interpretations of classic honky-tonk, country blues, Delta rhythm boogie, Gulf Coast boogie-woogie, rockabilly, and driving country rock. He played piano on the first country-rock album Safe at Home with Gram Parsons and recorded on the landmark Sweetheart of the Rodeo with The Byrds. His session work includes credits with Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell, Linda Ronstadt, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Buck Owens & the Buckaroos, Freddie Hart, Wynn Stewart, Rick Nelson, Marty Robbins, Marty Stuart, Mickey Gilley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash.
