Eve Monsees & Mike Buck at The Continental Club — 6:30 PM. No cover. 21+ only.
Eve Monsees got her first guitar at 12 and soon began practicing the blues with schoolmate Gary Clark Jr. By 15 they were sitting in on Austin jams and within a year were landing gigs, including an opening slot for Jimmie Vaughan at Antone’s. Monsees established The Exiles with Mike Buck and released their debut record in 2004. She later joined the Bluebonnets and has performed and recorded with several bands.
Drummer Mike Buck brings decades of Texas roots music experience, including founding work with the Fabulous Thunderbirds and time with the LeRoi Brothers and Big Guitars From Texas. He and Eve have played together in Eve and the Exiles since 2002 and are also co-owners of Antone’s Record Shop in Austin.
They are often accompanied by Amsterdam-born guitarist Tjarko Jeen, noted for his roots-leaning Telecaster work.
