Olivia Block

Olivia Block performs experimental composition and sound work at Solar Myth on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Presented by Ars Nova Workshop.

Chicago experimental music mainstay Olivia Block is an acclaimed media artist and composer whose work spans nearly three decades. Her live performances can include electronic instruments, piano, organ, amplified objects, and long experimental songs for voice, piano, and electronics. Block also composes for chamber ensemble, orchestra and pipe organ, and creates surround sound concerts, sound installations, and scores.

Block has performed, premiered, and exhibited throughout Europe, the United States, and Japan at festivals and series including Rewire, MoogFest, Sonic Light, and others. Her installations have been shown at institutions such as The Nasher Sculpture Museum, The Richard H. Driehaus Museum, Arthur Ross Gallery at University of Pennsylvania, and The Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
