Blackstock — co-founder and longtime co-editor of No Depression and a veteran music writer for the Austin American-Statesman — presents a concise, 100-page oral history featuring interviews with people who were in the room during the making of the album, plus the story of a “lost” album recorded before Old No. 1 and why it was never released.
