Knifeplay blends shoegaze textures with intimate, folk-influenced songwriting. Originally Tj Strohmer’s solo bedroom project, the group has expanded into a full studio-focused band known for lush orchestral arrangements and candid, philosophical lyrics that address themes of death, heartbreak, and self-discovery. Their recent releases include the critically praised album Animal Drowning (Topshelf Records) and the Spirit Echo EP. Knifeplay’s lineup includes Tj Strohmer, Alex Stackhouse, Max Black, John Klein, and Johanna Baumann.
