The Blues Specialists

The Blues Specialists bring traditional Texas jump blues with a touch of jazz to The Continental Club. No cover — 21+ only. The band has been a Friday happy hour staple since January 1988.

Founded by Austin blues legends TD Bell and Erbie Bowser, the current lineup includes Mel Davis (vocals, harmonica, sax), Lawrence Bell (organ/bass), Rob Richardson (guitar), and Isaac Bratchett (drums). Their sound is rooted in T-Bone Walker–influenced Texas jump blues.
