The Blues Specialists are an Austin-based blues band with a legacy stretching back more than three decades, founded by Texas blues figures TD Bell and Erbie Bowser. The group’s current lineup features original member and bandleader Mel Davis (vocals, harmonica, sax), Lawrence Bell (organ/bass), Rob Richardson (guitar), and Isaac Bratchett (drums). Their sound centers on traditional Texas jump blues with touches of jazz, rooted in the T-Bone Walker tradition.
