The Blues Specialists

The Blues Specialists perform a Friday Happy Hour set at The Continental Club starting at 6:30 PM. No cover — 21+ only.

The Blues Specialists are an Austin-based band founded from the legacy of blues greats TD Bell and Erbie Bowser. With a history spanning more than three decades, the group has played concerts, private events, weddings and clubs across the U.S. and abroad. Current lineup includes original bandleader Mel Davis (vocals, harmonica, sax), Lawrence Bell (organ/bass), Rob Richardson (guitar) and Isaac Bratchett (drums).

The group plays traditional Texas jump blues with a touch of jazz, rooted in the T-Bone Walker tradition.
